This is for filtering liquids using a mini 4 cup coffee filter. It's basically a coffee filter basket but has a bottom add on section with a narrow spout to direct the fluid into a smaller flask or beaker.

Alternately you could use a coffee filter basket or this Strainer funnel by mathgrrl

Its drains quickly because the large flat bottom exposes a large surface area and because the filter doesn't need to be folded. The bottom section is purposely made with only one direction grid bars touching the filter, this minimizes the contact area to maximize flow through the filter and hopefully reduce the amount of liquid retained.

The funnel is printed large side down (with the spout pointing up). The shallowest angle is 49 degrees from vertical so you can print it without supports but you may need to tell your slicer this.

The basket is printed with the sieve on the bed, again without supports, the bars are an easy distance to bridge, only 3.6mm, and the sides taper at 24 degrees from vertical so no supports are needed.

The f3d file has chamfered edges on the top of the sieve to reduce the area contacting the filter paper, it's the last item in the timeline. I never printed this version so if you do make a print version then feel free to post a remix if you think it's better than the wider bars.

Notes:

For the funnel part, printed with the large mouth down, use a brim to improve bed adhesion if you are unsure about how well the narrow edge will stick.

Print time is long, I used 0.32mm resolution to speed things up and this did cause some minor stringing which cleaned up easily. Use 0.2 if you have the 6 hrs free time for the basket, 3 1/2 hrs at 0.32. The funnel only takes 1 1/2 hrs at 0.2mm so may as well use standard resolution and avoid the stringing.

Post-Printing

Assembly

The funnel simply clips onto the basket. Mine fits together with a click and is very solid. Use glue if yours is loose. The bottom layer spread will make this tight so if its too tight, simply deburr the inner edge of the funnel.
