Description

This is a simple nozzle case/holder suitable for 10 nozzles. Simply rotate the hex at the bottom of the case and the nozzles will to rise up similar to a lipstick or a stick of deodorant. Depending on the quality of your print the operation may be a bit rough, however the abrasiveness of the filament will will smooth out the motion very quickly after only a few rotations.

Print was designed with volcano nozzles in mind however standard nozzles should also fit without issue.

Print Instructions

My standard quick print settings worked fairly well for all components. These print settings are:

  • 0.2mm layer height.
  • 3 perimeters minimum.
  • Minimum 3 top/bottom layers.
  • Printable without the need for supports.

Assembly

Basic assembly can be determined from the exploded view in the photos.

  • Once all components are printed, screw the ‘holder’ onto the ‘screw’ 4 or 5 rotations.
  • There is a rounded keyway connection between the ‘holder’ and the ‘housing’.
  • Line these keyways up and insert the ‘holder’ into the ‘housing’.
  • The ‘housing’ will lock into the ‘screw’ using the small tabs printed on the ‘screw’ component.

Note: The connection is tight enough that it will stay in place but loose enough to allow rotation of the component and can be pulled apart with a small amount of force if the case needs to be disassembled.

  • Rotate the hex head of the screw to actuate the case up and down.
  • The components are modeled with LH threads so that the rotation of the hex feels ‘natural’ for the rising action.
