The Butt Crutch

I created the butt crutch when I was experimenting with standing desks by raising my monitor and keyboard on reams of paper. I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a standing prop, but spotted a crutch leaning in the corner and thus was born the butt crutch.

The part prints easily with no supports, and I used ABS at the time but would probably use PETG now. 

Assembly:

1. Cut the top of the crutch off to the desired length using a hack saw
2. Glue the crutch into to the printed mount sockets using some epoxy (probably don't even need the glue as the fit is pretty snug). 
3. Cut a piece of ¾" MDF or plywood to the desired size (mine is 16" x 7") 
4. Attach the mount to the center of the board using some short lag screws. 
5. Cover with upholstery foam and batting 
6. Stretch and staple some fabric over it to form the cushion (I used faux leather vinyl). 
7. I also added a couple of upholstery buttons to it for aesthetics and comfort. 

The gripping foot on the bottom of the crutch works very well to hold you in place, just make sure the angle isn't too steep, and your legs are spread far enough apart to keep you stable. Folks with poor balance should probably use a stool instead ;-)
