Car Trash Bin (print-in-place, minimal & clean supports, optional magnet support)

DESCRIPTION

Is your car door pocket full of trash, snack wrappers, or travel receipts? No more! This elegant trash bin snaps on your car door pocket and solves that problem ;).

Upcycle disposable lunch bags or old supermarket plastic bags – put them on the bag holder, snap the bag holder onto the trash bin and you're set! 

The trash bin supports optional round 4x2mm neodymium magnets to secure the lid, but you don't have to use them for the bin to work – it's totally optional!

PRINTING

For a hassle-free experience, you only need to download the “Car_Trash_Bin” or the “Car_Trash_Bin_with_magnet_support” design and print it with PLA or PET-G. The lid is opened at a convenient 90° angle, so minimal supports are needed (see below). 

I have tested the entire print with Prusament PET-G, using Prusa Slicer's default 0.2mm PET-G printing preset. It fits snug on my Volkswagen Tiguan 2021 and works like a charm! PLA will also print fine.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I added several other files for convenience. You don't need to print these, but if for some reason you want to print a separate bag holder or the car bin without the bag holder, you're covered. 

I've also attached a revision of the bin without the lower stabilization lip if your car pocket has a wider edge.
