Used to paint and/or dry small hollow items such as bottles or anything that needs a stick to sit on to assist in applying spray paint in a paint booth.
Super easy print. It is desirable to have no top or bottom layers, and print with 3 perimeters. As found in the supplied .3mf file, prusa slicer compatible, the result is a honeycomb mesh that presents a myriad of holes to insert match-wood or 1/8 inch dowel. The holes are upsized so that 3D print squish doesn't cause any issues - I cut up a lot of little matchwood pieces with multiple thicknesses, and they all were inserted and held well (won't fall out if turned upside down).
To use the paint stand, after you have decided how many pieces you want, and inserted all of the little matchwood stands you desire - place it on a rotating stand such as one made from an upcycled prusament spool, add your small parts that need spray coat such as color or clear coat, and spray in a side-to-side sweep to cover all of the parts. Since the tray can easily be spun on a turn table, you get to spray all sides. If you make your matchwood posts long enough to keep your part up off of the stand surface, dripping will be controlled better.
This may be similar to designs for things like cake pop stands. I needed one to paint a small set of lure bodies that are 1.5 inches long and a half inch across - so something that holds sticks made sense. If you paint or dry little things that are one-ended such as lure bodies or bottles, let me know in your comments, and possibly with a heart.
