My boat cover sags in the winter under the snow, so I made these up real quick to solve the problem. I used some 3/4 " conduit to hold them up, and I had to grease the heck out of the threads to get them to screw together. Basically, the bottom part goes under the cover in a hole, the top part goes over the cover and clamps down. I made several iterations, after having to fight with the threads I put a piece across the middle to give me a grip. Tried a ½" socket in the base part but that just shredded so I added wings so I could grip it and it finally worked (for the most part).
Either way, we'll see how things work this winter.
