This fan duct fits into a full height 5.25" drive bay (e.g., 2x optical drive bays) and mounts a 120mm case fan. Useful for providing cool air directly to a CPU cooler. Suitable for any computer case with a full height 5.25" drive bay.

My Antec P90 case is huge, but actually barely fits my GTX 1080 graphics card. Closing the side panel effectively cuts the lower case fans off from the CPU cooler. This fan duct allowed me to easily mount a case fan up higher in the case to bring air directly to the CPU cooler.

Print notes:

  • Prints with minimal supports (recessed holes for faceplates)
  • The tall thin walls may warp a little during the print. This should not affect the functionality or fit.
  • Suggest this gets installed behind filtered drive bay doors (see example photo) or print the optional faceplates and filter
  • Case screws will thread into the plastic – do not over-tighten

Includes a faceplate assembly that can hold your own filter medium.

  • Body - the mount and air duct for the fan. Has connection points for the optional faceplates.
  • Faceplates (Optional)
    • Inner faceplate - Connects to the body. Includes inset for filter medium (1mm thick).
      • Filter gcode provided. Not an ideal filter… consider acquiring a proper filter medium.
    • Outer faceplate - Connects to the inner faceplate.

Assembly:

  • 4 x M3x20 or M3x25 screws/bolts will securely fasten the faceplates to the body
  • A gap between the faceplates will accommodate 1mm thick filter medium
    • Use gcode to print a sample filter
    • Insert filter prior to attaching the faceplates
