Having a USB Switch can be pretty fun. I use mine to switch my mouse/keyboard control between my desktop and my iPad. But I also value empty desk-space a lot! My USB Switch has the unfortunate design of having wires coming off of opposite sides. This makes it a wire-management nightmare because there is nowhere you can put it on your desk in a clean, organized way.
To get it up off my desk, I whipped up this pieces that attaches it to the base-pole of my monitor arm.
The wires can be routed around the back neatly using two paths for zip-ties. Just slide a zip-tie through these pathways and use them to secure the wires to the back.
Amazon has several brands selling USB switches like this. This is the one I designed the model around: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S7YNN3S/
The model is parametric, so it should be able to fit most of them with a little tweaking in Fusion360. Here's the link for the file so you can tailor it to your (non-commercial) needs: https://a360.co/3zYnBaG
Hope this is useful to you. Keep your desk-space sacred, friends!
