This is probably the biggest hemisphere (dia 400mm) one could make on a 200x200 base. It would be SO much better using a 0.4mm nozzle: so re-slice the .stls for your own nozzle and settings.

The idea is to place an inverted hemisphere around the square post of a garden bird table to prevent rats from eating your bird food.

The kit comes with:

  1. A 90 degree section of the hemisphere for printing 4 times “hemisphere for printing.stl”
  2. Two 180 degree section of the clamp that grips the post. “hubs with clasps.stl”
  3. Ten clasps for holding the sections together whilst gluing. “10 clasps.stl”

The clasps and their holders are an interesting design on their own right. These use the springiness of the plastic to grip two things together.

I've included the Openscad files so you can use these for other things “clasp.scad”

top.scad is the design of the clamp.

hemisphere.scad is the design of the hemisphere with the clasp holders.
