This part replaces the original rear PTFE holder with one that has Push to Connect fittings. The fittings are not the push through type, but just like the ones on the outlet of the MMU. This makes removing the MMU much easier. Also makes it easier to have more than 5 spools at the ready. Just have some PTFE tube setup and swap out the connections on the MMU.

This is a design based on the Prusa MMU2s holder, that was inspired by the Prusa MMU2 PTFE Holder M10 Passthrough Adapter.

Directions:

Remove the old holder and use some of the old PTFE tube to install the new one.

  • Print the new part and insert the brass nut inserts with a soldering gun
  • Remove the old holder and push a length of PTFE tube into the MMU.
  • Take a pen and mark where the tubing enters the MMU.
  • Remove the tubing and cut it so the other end pushes all the way into the hole in the new holder, opposite the Push to Connect fittings and cut so the mark you made is at the edge of the new holder.
  • Fit the new holder into the MMU and make sure the tubing is not too long or too short. It should insert all the way to the stop in the MMU and all the way into the new holder.
***Make sure the tubing isn't too long as it will warp when the new holder is tightened down and may cause feed issues***
  • Bolt down the new holder in the MMU.
