I recently brought an AcePC T11 mini computer that is fanless. The problem is that it's cooling system is absolute rubbish. Even under moderate load the CPU would git 80+C causing the frequency to drop. I made this model to replace the top of the machine and included a small 40mm fan mount blowing on to the SOC heatsink. Even with the fan at a low speed the CPU now does not exceed 50C that often.

To power the fan I soldered on to the + and - points at the rear of one of the USB2 ports. I used a 5V Noctua PWM fan (had it on hand) and using a ATTiny to drive the PWM control line to moderate the fan speed. Unfortunately there is no easy way to connect to the 5V line, neither are there any fan headers (not surprising).

I have included the 3MF file as well as the STL's as I used PrusaSlicer's modifiers to create the grid for the fan using only infill.

Print instructions

Use the 3MF to see how I used the modifiers to create the fan grill.

I printed using PETG just because of heat, but to be honest PLA will probably be fine.
