There are many LED lamps and LED strips for sale nowadays which are equipped with surprisingly similar-looking credit-card sized IR remotes to use on them. These remotes have a tendency to get lost and always be in the place that you did not expect.
In an effort to remedy that problem I created this wall holder for those remotes. It can be used with remotes that are up to 7.5mm thick and features a spring to hold the remote in place even if your little child is going a little rough trying to hit those colourful buttons.
If you want use use this thing, you need to print it along with two MultiClips of your choosing, enabling you to mount the holder to a surface in the way you prefer.
You can find the MultiClip in my public designs (with extensive explanation).
I recommend printing this object in ABS or ABS+ because it is more flexible and less rigid than PLA and therefor tends to leave less scratches on your remote and also the springy part is less prone to breaking off with ABS.
See the pictures for an impression of the mounted result. In that example I used two Glue Clips with unstintingly laid out globs of hot glue on them and pressed it on. But there are also clips for screwing, stapling and even rail mounting available.
If you like the MultiClip idea, you might want to have a look at some more MultiClip-enabled designs. You are also very welcome to use the MultiClip Templates for your own objects.
Rafts: No
Supports: No
Resolution: 0.15
Infill: 20%
Filament: renkforce ABS+ white
Notes:
If you print this thing upright as delivered, you will not need any support.
But use a generously sized brim (I recommend at least 5mm with ABS).
You can also leave the part fan off (I only enabled it for top surfaces and bridging)
